Therapy for Clients

Therapy Services for Clients

EMDR Consulting recognises that people seek therapy for a variety of reasons, and at different stages in their lives. There is no rule or set structure for when someone should speak with a psychologist. Some of the most common reasons for seeking therapy is to relieve depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem or lowered motivation. People often seek an EMDR Therapist because they have experienced trauma or are seeking a therapist who can work with complex childhood trauma. As a psychologist Fiona 's main therapeutic approach is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). However they also use other approaches such as Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Expressive Therapies to assist you to achieve your therapeutic goals. Fiona mainly work with adults, however they can also see children or adolescents for trauma related therapy. For further information about our service please visit Frequently Asked Questions.
During your first session we will:
  • Discuss your concerns and explain how counselling works.
  • Complete standard assessments to clarify your symptoms (depression, anxiety, stress, Post Traumatic Stress).
